The first extension to the Project Rock footwear line. Providing a highly functional, signature experience with a democratic point of view.

Acting as family to the Project Rock 3, the BSR acts as an introduction to the Project Rock brand footwear. Addressing the functional needs that resonate with the athlete dubbed “the hardest worker in the room”.

Inspired by the performance of the Project Rock 3, Lockdown was a critical component to this athlete for optimal movement within their training space. Integrating the lockdown into the upper construction allows for a minimal experience.

Leveraging layers and construction details to provide durability and stability while adding a level of craftsmanship and detail to the design personality. An optimized fit experience was something to keep consistent within the Project Rock line. Lastly, taking a graphical approach to the zoning of breathability and durability in the vamp material.

When constructing the shoe, maintaining a seamless construction was the goal to provide a minimal yet optimized training experience. Answering the need for a 1:1 sock-like fit with a stretch mesh bootie construction. Interlocking a webbing structure in the midfoot to provide lockdown and allow for free range of motion in the toes. Lastly adding lateral TPU layers for added containment and support.

As the details were worked through, the vamp material was a key part of the durability and breathability story. In order to stay true to the “cracks and scars” story that is consistent in the Project Rock brand, a single layer vamp mesh with technical hole placement and high durability was selected.
